About Steven J. Baines

His career has been spent on improving organizations through education, training, leadership development, and volunteering for worthy causes.

Steven, owner and Chief Elevation Officer of Elevate Your Image, LLC, is an organizational development consultant which helps in presenting one’s best self forward. In this capacity, he coaches, trains, facilitates, and oversees leadership programs and courses to improve employee performance and optimize their potential.

Steven is deeply rooted in the Galveston community, serving on the board of Vision Galveston and the advisory board of MORTAR Galveston. He served as the President of Galveston’s Own Farmers Market (now Groundswell Galveston). He was named "Toastmaster of the Year" while serving as president of ANICO Articulators Toastmasters, served on the advisory board for The Grand 1894 Opera House.

 

A native of Cincinnati, OH, Steven worked for six years at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. He also worked and lived overseas twice; first, as a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer, Bolivia, for over two years, and second, for three years as an HIV/AIDS program manager for Catholic Relief Services (CRS) in Malawi. 

Steven served as chairperson of the board for the City of Cincinnati Health Department, responsible for more than $40 million. He was the diversity and inclusion co-chair for the Human Rights Campaign in Greater Cincinnati. Steven was also one of their national diversity, inclusion & equity trainers for LGBTQ representation.

His formal educational background includes a master’s in International & Intercultural Management from the School for International Training, Brattleboro, VT, and a master’s in philosophy in industrial and organizational psychology from Walden University, Minneapolis, MN, and a bachelor’s in Communications from Xavier University, Cincinnati, OH.
